With his new show “DRAMA KING”, Wiesbaden-based comedian Cüneyt Akan takes the audience on a humorous journey through the trials and tribulations of everyday life – somewhere between failed relationships, identity crises and a touch of nostalgia. Along the way, he makes one thing clear: you don’t have to understand everything in life – after all, he doesn’t either.
With a healthy dose of self-deprecation, quick-witted dialogue and plenty of spontaneity, Cüneyt recounts life’s minor and major dramas – but please, not too dramatically. Instead of flat punchlines or clichéd comedy, he brings genuine emotion to the stage – charming, empathetic and always with a twinkle in his eye.
As a German-Turkish man, Cüneyt Akan speaks with honest openness about family, work and social issues – approachable, authentic and drawn from real life. He is already familiar to many through his appearances on “NightWash live” or at the “Quatsch Comedy Club” in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, as well as on TV. Anyone who sees Cüneyt live will quickly realise: this is no typical comedian. Funny, profound, surprising – and definitely not what you’d expect from comedy.
