Andreas Kieling – Alaska & Wildes West-Europa

In the first part of the evening, Andreas Kieling takes us to the far north of the American continent. As a wildlife filmmaker and adventurer, he spent three years following the tracks of polar bears, grizzlies, moose, musk oxen, caribou and Dall sheep. A life among wolves. Whether it’s polar bear battles, the mating season of the Alaskan moose, the fierce confrontations of musk oxen, or the calmer daily life with grizzly bears, there are countless breathtaking and extraordinary stories to tell.

Premiere in Luxembourg

Social gathering with Alexander Oetker

The crime series by SPIEGEL bestselling author Alexander Oetker about Commissaire Luc Verlain has been a hit with audiences since its debut in 2017:

Luc Verlain is finally back—
with his most wintery case yet!

A woman is hit by a car and killed on a remote forest road. The nurse had a violent husband, who immediately comes under the scrutiny of Commissaire Luc Verlain. But it soon becomes clear that the courageous woman was investigating a number of suspicious deaths among elderly people who were spending their twilight years in the small beach towns along the Côte d'Argent, the Silver Coast. Luc's team has to pull out all the stops just before Christmas—the trail leads them to a monastery in the interior, where a very charming priest is pulling the strings. A mysterious and touching case in the snowiest winter Aquitaine has seen in decades.

THE ROGER CICERO EXPERIENCE

Between groove, humor, and heart

Some news stories seem unbelievable. The news of Roger Cicero's death was one such story—he died unexpectedly on March 24, 2016, as a result of a stroke. He became famous for many songs, such as “Frauen regier'n die Welt” (Women Rule the World), “Wenn Sie Dich fragt” (When She Asks You) and “Zieh die Schuh aus” (Take Off Your Shoes).

“The Roger Cicero Experience” is an evening that brings Roger Cicero's music back to life – with all the charm, elegance and wink that make his songs so distinctive. The military big band brings his sound to life in all its colorful glory: rich, modern, powerful, and with the casual precision that made Cicero's style so unique. Serge Schonckert provides sensitive vocals throughout the evening, approaching the songs more as Roger's accomplice: respectful, fresh, and with his own touch that carries on Roger's urban lightness. The result is a concert that sounds familiar and suprising at the same time—a reunion that feels like a new discovery.

An evening for everyone who loves his music, misses it, or wants to get to know it for the first time.

Pinocchio

Pinocchio, carved from pine wood by Gepetto, is brought to life by the good fairy Antonella. To become a real boy, he must diligently go to school and always be honest. But the clever fox Amadeo and the forgetful cat Cerubino constantly lead him astray. Because Pinocchio wants to please his father, he sometimes tells little lies—something that is instantly revealed by his growing nose. On his journey, he must overcome many adventures so that his greatest wish can come true.

Bram Stoker’s  DRACULA

A melodramatic tour de force through the night with music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Debussy, and others.

“Can you hear the children of the night? What music they make!”

Shortly before Halloween, the Centre Culturel Machera presents a captivating reading spectacle that blurs the boundaries between literature, music, and theater.

Stefan Jürgens, German actor and musician—known from SOKO Wien and various appearances on Tatort—takes you into the dark heart of Bram Stoker's Dracula in an atmospherically dense performance.

In his melodramatic and fast-paced literary performance, he unfolds a world full of horror, courage, and love.
