Bram Stoker’s  DRACULA

24. Oct @ 20:00

A melodramatic tour de force through the night with music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Debussy, and others.

“Can you hear the children of the night? What music they make!”

Shortly before Halloween, the Centre Culturel Machera presents a captivating reading spectacle that blurs the boundaries between literature, music, and theater.

Stefan Jürgens, German actor and musician—known from SOKO Wien and various appearances on Tatort—takes you into the dark heart of Bram Stoker’s Dracula in an atmospherically dense performance.

In his melodramatic and fast-paced literary performance, he unfolds a world full of horror, courage, and love.

The famous vampire novel “Dracula” is not just read. Jürgens combines language, music, and acting into a dense, emotional experience that touches all the senses. The comprehensive soundtrack with orchestral music by Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and others, as well as his own live piano compositions and atmospheric background music, enhances the dramatic effect and keeps the audience in suspense.

What begins as a business trip to Transylvania for young lawyer Jonathan Harker turns into a nightmare. Trapped in the castle of the mysterious Count Dracula, he realizes that he has opened the door to an ancient horror. While his fiancée Mina fears for him, a sinister plan unfolds that will soon also affect England.

Together with Professor van Helsing, Mina, Jonathan, and their companions face an overwhelming darkness.

Their struggle is more than a duel with evil—it is a testament to courage, love, and the unshakable power of the human spirit.
